Melvin "Smokehouse" Moore is bringing a fine selection of Soul cuts on his New debut CD, "Choice Cut", QR081205-1 Quinn Records TM label. It was almost 40 years ago, when Melvin "Smokehouse" Moore was traveling the Country promoting his than new hit song,I've Been Watching You", with the R&RB/Soul & Funk Group called,"The South Side Movement," that haled out of the Windy City of Chicago, Illinois. The song,"Ive Been Watching You," spent several weeks on the Top-40 Soul Charts. Melvin "Smokehouse" Moore now makes his home in Marrianna, Florida and works frequently in and around the area doing shows, concerts and making public appearances performing his solo act that include a wide variety of R&B/Soul sounds, Melvin "Smokehouse" Moore can also be heard on Marianna's local Radio Station WTOT-FM 101.7 where he works as a Blues/Soul DJ . "Choice Cut," QR081205-1 is due out for release this Winter, on Tuesday February 12th, 2008. "Choice Cut," will offer you Hot! BOOGIE CITY SOUL Tracks. Jazz music is really Oliver Johnson's real passion. An avid trumpet player sense he was 12 years old, Oliver learn from the best Jazz musicians of the times, like Tabb Smith who Jazz Group use to practice in Oliver's home, he also studied the trumpet under Harry Turner who played in the late great Count Basie Band and having been born and raised in the same town with the legendary Miles Davis, need I say more. Oliver has sampled a wealth of musical styles ranging from Jazz, Blues, Soul and Motown. And it is often said about Oliver's music and style, that these musical experiences is always heard in Oliver's works, which help shape Oliver's distinctive sound and flavorable style. Oliver has assembled a team of some of St.Louis best names in Jazz music,like the magnificant Raymond Eldridge on upright Bass, the fantastic Henry Burns on piano and well known Drumist, Alvin Troop. These guys has in their own rights earned a wealth of respect and recognition over time,in the Jazz music industry. Oliver is promising a complete mix of original Jazz tunes that are both, "Straight-ahead and Traditional, so you can get ready for some groovy-grooves. Faith that things do grow in a storm,is the reason I'm expanding the company this year, despite news of poor industry wide record sales,high gas prices and a gloomy housing industry, with new music by new and talented artists . It's these kind of conditions, that keeps me in the,BLUES-BUSINESS! But,I have alway's promised my customers and fans, that I would do my very best to bring to them what I believe to be the Best in Blues, Gospel, Jazz and Soul music , by way of new music and new artists. So joining, "the Boogie City Soul" machine this year is Ace Jones, Gallion, Alabama blues king with his debut Album titled, "Twenty-One Years," a thundering Delta/Southern Blussy. All the songs on "Twenty-One Years," was written and composed by Ace Jones. Curtis "Boogieman" Soul To Head Its' Radio Promotions Department
Quinn Records™ Welcomes Curtis "Boogieman Soul" to head it's Radio Promotions Department.
It's truly a honor for me to be working Curtis again. Curtis will be responsible for managing, promoting, developing and maintaining ongoing working relationships with Radio Personalities, Music Directors and Program Managers throughout the United States. Curtis has over 27 years of radio experience under his belt and have entertained and gained fans all across the Country. Curtis is also an engaging activist in Voting Registration, especially in the Southern parts of Missouri where he have gain the respect and appreciations from Governors to Councilmans. Curtis career started while he was still in High School where he began Spinning records professionally after school for parties,groups and organizatiion who knew that this young man could get the peoples out of their homes. Curtis quickly earned the stage name "Boogieman" because he kept the dance floors packed, standing room only is what people rememebered most about the "Boogieman'". His style was Rapping, scratching, dropping in good time and a nack for picking the right songs for his show, made him famous and he soon became a role model for all who wanted to become a Jock, who can Rock!

LEROY CRISP & THE ORIGINAL SOUTHERN HARMONIZERS
It's funny how life play it's hand. Four years before I was born into this world, two young men found the Lord and wanted to spread God's word through songs. They both had a talent for singing so they decided to form a gospel group. The fellows who set out to form the group were named, Leonard Bell and Richard Orange the year was 1942. Mr. Orange was made manager of the group at that time and he decided to name the group, "The Southern Harmonizers," a name they had to live up to, so Mr. Orange began recruiting some of the best vocalists in the East St.Louis area, that included Register Harris, Henry Summers, and Harry Lee Barnes. By the time I was born in 1946 they were well on their way of becoming the most popular quartet gospel group in the region at that time. Bro. Joe Mays was a big supporter of this then young group. I was seven years old when the now manager Leroy Crisp joined The Southern Harmonizers in 1953. It was my first full year of school, who would have thought that this little kid in the first grade at Dunbar School would grow up to be responsible for getting this group for the first time in their sixty-three year history, National and International exposure it gives me goose bumps to think about it. I decided to include on their album, titled, "Sixty-Three Years of Service For The Lord," four of their original recordings from 1945 and 1953, the masters are lost, so we had to use the actual recordings, furnished by Bro. Crisp. These recordings have never before been published and never before been heard by the mass public. Making this CD a fine collectors item of Old Vintage Quartet Style Gospel singing. I didn't concern myself with the hissing sounds coming from those old recordings,that just added to the naturalism of the project, because I've heard those sounds before, when I was a little boy growing up in East St. Louis and listening to my mother playing our old family phonograph. I heard that old gospel harmony that made her cry and testify her declared faith to those uplifting spiritual messages. They were good enough for my mother, so they are good enought for me! I included the group's old songs in this recording, to let others like myself again, hear those old time religious sounds once more. That kind of gospel singing brought back soon long forgotten memories of a simpler time. The Southern Harmonizers are celebrating their 63rd Anniversary August, 2006. All the Old Group members except, Bro. Leroy Crisp, are deceased now, and the new members have taken up the helm. There are nine tracks on their 63rd Anniversary CD, the first four tracks are the songs, sound and voices of those Original Southern Harmonizers, singing songs like, "It Must Be Jesus," "Standing In The Safety Zone," "Just A Closer Walk With Thee," and "I Want To Know". I told Bro.Crisp that, people are just going to love him and his Southern Harmonizers whose theme song is, "We Got This Far By Faith," and how true. With a lil bit more of God's blessing, we hope to see Leroy Crisp & The Southern Harmonizers go even further.

We are seeing and experiencing a change that have never before been seen in the Industry today. But when its all said and done, I am delighted with the change because I know we (Quinn Records TM) are right on the brink of a new era of Music Buying and Selling. And our new Business Model have incorporated this idea, even to the point of including a more focused Pricing Strategy that is designed to Reward our Music Buying Customer and to keep their interest and appetite in high gear as long as they continue to show an interest in the Blues, Gospel, Jazz and Soul Music industry.
Our exposure on the International music scene is gaining momentum, already France, Japan, The Netherland,Switzerland,Demark are being entertained by our Blues, Gospel, Jazz and Soul Music releases and it's getting bigger. We are reaching into the Pot and pulling out more Soul, R&B and Get-Down Blues sounds this year. THE PARTY IS JUMPING! is the attitude around here at the Company and we know how to Crank out the sound. Oliver Johnson & Nite Train is back in the Studio working on but, another SOUL-SOCKER, titled "Luv'N'Thang," also on the album will be more Rocking Tracks, like "Hello Time," "I Wanna Thank Your Mama," "You Don't Do Nothing," "Do You Love Me Not?". All of these tracks are new rocking blues/soul sounds written especially for the "Luv'N'Thang album.
Carolyn Adams a one-time nominee for Best International Gospel Artist of The Year by the Newsome Awards in 2005 is back in the runnings again this year (2006), for "Best International Gospel Artist of The Year,"by the Newsome Awards . Carolyn is a hard worker and people just loves her and you can bet your life, she will give you your moneys worth when you attend one of her performances. You need to be on the look out for her New Album due out this Summer on the Quinn Records TM label. It's going to be Carolyns finest piece of work,yet. And their debut album will in fact be the coming-out prize. I was delighted and excited by the tight harmony put out buy this Group. The songs that they sing are all originals. I told Chris their Manager since 1953, the name fits the profile. They are truly Southern Harmony.
